Veneers are Great for Most Dental Imperfections

Posted on 3/20/2019 by Dr. Castellon
Veneers are Great for Most Dental ImperfectionsDo you have slight discolorations in your teeth? What about minor gaps between your teeth, or teeth that are crooked? Or perhaps, through normal wear and tear, you have a tooth that has been chipped or even cracked?

If you can answer "yes” to any of these questions, you may want to consider getting dental veneers. These marvelous dental prosthetics can help freshen up your smile and give you the look you have always wanted.

What are Dental Veneers?

A dental veneer is a very thin piece of porcelain that fits over your tooth. It is permanently attached using a specialized dental adhesive. Veneers, when fashioned and attached properly, are indistinguishable from real teeth—meaning you will have a smile that is both natural-looking and beautiful.

Veneers are usually fashioned on your second visit to our office. On the first visit, we will carefully measure your teeth in order to be able to fashion the veneers properly. When you come back, we will carefully prepare your teeth by shaving down any areas that need to be reduced and etching the surface of the teeth to improve the adhesion of the veneer. Then we will use a dental adhesive to attach the veneer to the surface of the tooth.

How Can Veneers Improve Your Smile?

Regardless of what your cosmetic issue is, a veneer can help your smile look beautiful. By hiding discolorations left from tobacco use, foods, and drinks, veneers give you that bright white smile you have always wanted.

What's more, if your teeth look great in color, but are slightly misaligned, a dental veneer can be just the solution you need. Veneers can be used to fill in gaps, straighten teeth, and cover other cosmetic issues.

So, if you have been dreaming of a better smile, dream no more. Come see us about veneers today!
