We wanted to update everyone again following a new executive order announced by Governor Greg Abbott on Monday, April 27th. Governor Greg Abbott announced the first phase of the State of Texas' ongoing plan to safely and strategically open Texas while minimizing the spread of COVID-19.
It is important to note that the Governor’s plans, specifically Executive Order 19, permit the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) to announce “emergency rules” that dictate “minimum standards for safe practice.”
With this current information Dallas Prosthodontics is expecting to OPEN BY MAY 11TH and resume dental care and making progress toward completing your prosthodontic treatment and resolving any more urgent issues. We are not only obligated to follow the dictum of our elective officials, but we also would not want to do anything that could put you or the public at large in greater jeopardy.
In order to accommodate the new TSBDE guidelines, we will be changing our usual protocols. These changes include: reducing the number of patients scheduled during a specific time period, increase spacing between patients in the clinical area, and only the patient will be allowed in the office to reduce the possibility of cross contamination. We will no longer utilize our waiting room, so any family members that accompany the patient to the office will remain in their vehicle during the appointment.
The doctors and dental assistants will be utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for your additional protection. We have already purchased new equipment that would help minimize and control the amount of aerosol in the office, such as a Medical Grade Air Purifier with HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns as well as PM2.5 particles and can recycle the content of a dental operatory in 30 min (Medifyair.com), we have also acquired an External Suction system with a 3 layer HEPA filter and medical grade UV light disinfectant system. (ADSdental.com).
We plan to take the temperature of patients before bringing them into the clinic area. We also ask that if you are currently ill, have been in contact with others who are ill, or if you’ve traveled from an area where contact with an infected person may have occurred, that you let us know and we will reschedule your visit.
The Maintenance/Hygiene program will remain closed until the middle of June, we will be contacting all of you to begin the rescheduling process as soon as possible.
If you have other questions about our safety protocols, or if you have a dental emergency, please contact us by phone at (972) 503-7200 or by email at the following:

By following these protocols, we will all be doing our part in this fight to overcome the Corona virus and help return our country to normal as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your support.
Best Wishes to all,
Dallas Prosthodontics and Staff
